Is it a Garden or an Arboretum?
Kew Gardens, an easy walk from the rail station near Richmond. No, not RVA--Richmond, England.
A little past noontime on another sweltering day of exploration around London just a few weeks ago I eagerly waited in a short line to enter this 300+ acre gardens. Wished I had arrived when it opened--not just because of the lower temps in the morning but because there is so much to see there.
Our tour guide told us that it is very much an arboretum as it is a garden. The alluring fragrance of those sweet chestnut trees was as inviting as the roses and other scented flowers. Plus, in the humid, 90+ air the shade from the trees kept us close by.
And, Chihuly was everywhere!
